Welcome to my website, where I have fun learning East Asian languages, primarily Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.
From 2014 to 2021, I worked in China as a business professor, an experience that allowed me to travel around Korea and Japan as well. I also studied abroad in China, Korea, and Japan for some time.
Although I was able to pick up some of each language, I never really had time to study them in depth. So this is my stab at exploring and trying to pick up the languages in my own learning style.
I make no promises about the accuracy of the translations and terms shared on this blog; I am a beginner and am doing this to learn myself. If you see some errors, please explain why and how it should be modified!
Some of this may include random terms, but I would like to try working with translating full sentences as well. When learning Spanish, I handled it better when I was able to work with sentences rather than individual words. I will also try incorporating pictures where possible since I believe that it makes it easier to link the item to the term rather than the term to an English translation.
Fluent Forever has invented a list of 625 words that language learners should know in the new language in order to facilitate working with grammar and sentences. I will probably work through these as well.
I make no promises regarding consistent posting and I will probably flip between languages as I wish. This really is just for my own fun and to record my trip through the languages.
If you want to join me feel free. If you want to offer friendly constructive corrections, it is much appreciated! Welcome aboard!
