Hello!

So, I have recently been caught up in the Chinese novel Spirealm and decided to practice my Chinese by trying to translate a few of the episodes based on the raw / MTL files which I found here.

Since there is already a group of people translating the series, I figured I could try my hand at a few episodes that haven’t been done yet and compare what I did to what they get as practice. 😋

Of course, this is just for fun and to try working on my Chinese at the same time. I’m not making any money off of this and won’t share the video files since the show has not been formally released.

Since this is for educational purposes, I appreciate any recommended corrections or suggestions. As long as they are nicely worded 🥰

While working on this episode’s translation, there were a few phrases that I was just never comfortable with. If anyone has any suggestions or help, it’s appreciated!

1. I understand the meaning of most of the characters except for 夹, which Yabla Chinese defines as “to press from either side; to place in between; to sandwich; to carry sth under armpit; wedged between; between; to intersperse; to mix; to mingle; clip; folder”.
2. According to Yabla Chinese, 不想 means unexpectedly and 进门 means “to enter a door; to go in; to learn the basics of a subject; to join one’s husband’s household upon marriage”. The translations make it seem like he’s basically saying he doesn’t want to join Obsidian. but I can’t tell if there is something deeper to it. Based on the individual words, it sounds more like he’s saying he doesn’t want to unexpectedly go through any more doors.
